Terms of use

Last updated: 14 August 2026

Using Vartana Voice means agreeing to what follows. We have kept it short so it is actually readable.

This is a beta

The service is early and under active development. Features may change, lessons may be corrected, and there may be interruptions. We do not currently offer an uptime guarantee, and we would rather state that than imply one we cannot honour.

What we provide

Language-learning practice: lessons, pronunciation scoring, and conversation practice with AI characters. The characters are fictional and are generated by software — they are not real people, and nothing they say should be taken as advice about anything other than the language.

Scores are guidance, not certification

Pronunciation scores are produced by speech recognition and language models. They are useful for practice. They are not a language qualification, and we make no claim that they correspond to any external proficiency framework.

Your account

Payments and refunds

Subscriptions and conversation-minute packs are billed through Razorpay in Indian rupees. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and cancelling stops the next renewal rather than the current period. Purchased conversation minutes do not expire.

If the service does not work as described, email us within 7 days of the charge and we will refund it. We would rather return your money than argue about it.

Ending it

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the privacy policy). We may suspend an account that abuses the service or attempts to disrupt it.

Liability

The service is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits rights you have under Indian consumer law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts in Bengaluru having jurisdiction.
